Unpopular take: That cheap suet block I bought from the dollar store actually attracted way more birds than the fancy organic ones

I was at the Dollar General in town last Tuesday and grabbed a $1.50 suet block on a whim, expecting nothing. Tossed it in my cage feeder next to the $8 organic suet I normally buy, and within 3 hours I had a downy woodpecker and a flicker going after the cheap one instead. The expensive block barely got touched for a week straight. I get that the ingredients are probably junk, but in terms of getting birds to show up, the cheap stuff just works better for me. Has anyone else had a feeder or food you tried on a whim totally beat out your usual go-to?

Yeah the cheap stuff usually has way more fat so the birds go nuts for it.

Wait @taylorc40 does that mean the expensive stuff has less fat or just less filler?
