Why I skip filling my feeder some days
Everyone says to keep it full, but I see cardinals and sparrows do better when they find food on their own. It feels more respectful to their natural ways.

Actually, empty feeders might cut down on bird diseases.

Makes sense... Agree with letting birds find their own food sometimes. It feels right to not always intervene. Empty feeders could cut down on sickness spreading. I've noticed cardinals look more lively when they forage. So skipping some days seems like a good balance.
