Banding saw blade snapped mid-shift, lost 40 minutes of prep

Tuesday afternoon I was breaking down a side of beef and the blade let go right after the first rib cut. It threw the tensioner and bent the top wheel guide, so I had to stop everything and rebuild the carriage. Took me 40 minutes to swap in a new blade and realign the fences, and I still had 60 pounds of chuck to grind for the case. My supplier gave me a cheaper blade last order and I knew it felt off, anyone else had bad luck with thinner gauge blades on heavy bone work?

Thinner blades cut better on bone but you trade durability, that's the deal you signed up for.
