Can we talk about that moment a bone saw blade just snaps mid-cut?

Last Tuesday I was breaking down a whole steer and the blade on my 14 inch bandsaw gave out halfway through a femur. Chipped tooth flew past my ear and I had to stop everything to swap the blade and double check the tension.

Buddy of mine had a blade snap on him mid-cut on a pig shoulder. Thing whipped back and cut his arm open pretty bad. Had to get stitches.

What kind of tension gauge are you running on that saw? I've seen guys crank them way too tight thinking it'll cut faster and that's what causes the teeth to let go like that.
