Lost a finger tip to a dull bandsaw blade last Tuesday near Tulsa

The blade was dragging through a pork shoulder instead of cutting clean, so I pushed harder and it grabbed, now I'm down half an inch of my index finger has anyone else had a close call with a dull blade before?

Lost a thumbnail to a dull jointer" - yeah, that's a classic. Dull blades don't cut, they just grab and yank whatever's in the way. After that first close call I started checking blades by feeding in a scrap piece first, saves a lot of swearing later.

That dull blade thing is a bigger pattern in a lot of tools, not just jointers. @milaw14's scrap piece trick is smart, I do the same with my planer now after learning the hard way.
