My bone saw got a workout on a whole pig, then my band saw blade gave up at 4pm
Got a whole hog in last Tuesday for a custom order, 180 pounds, and I figured I'd speed things up with my bone saw for the spine work. Worked great for the first two cuts, real clean, then the blade started smoking and straight up snapped on the third pass. I ended up borrowing the shop's hand saw and finishing the split in like 45 minutes, but now I'm wondering if I should just get a better blade or go back to the old way. Anyone else had a band saw die on a big job and switch to hand tools out of desperation?

honestly once that blade goes mid cut you're locked in, you gotta finish the day with what's left in the room. hand saw's slow but it dont quit on you, kinda makes you appreciate the old school approach more after a mess like that.
