Paper order books vs. these new apps that always glitch out
Back in my dad's shop, we had this thick order book that lasted all month. Every cut, every special request, was right there in handwriting. We knew our regulars by name and their usual orders. These days, the corporate office pushed some fancy app for orders. But it crashes if the internet's slow, and the interface is confusing for older customers. I've had to re-enter data from failed uploads more times than I can count. It slows down the whole day when we're trying to prep meat. Sure, it's supposed to be quick, but it just adds stress.

Yeah the whole "it crashes if the internet's slow" thing is so real. My friend at a bakery had their new tablet system totally freeze up right at the morning rush last week. They lost like six online orders and had to scramble writing everything down on napkins lol. Took them an hour after the rush to sort it all out and type it back in. Seems like the fix for new tech problems is just going back to the old way anyway.

It's crazy how often this happens in different jobs. Like at my doctor's office, their digital check-in system went down, and they had to use paper forms again. People were waiting longer because the staff wasn't used to handling paper. I mean, we spend all this money on new tech, but when it fails, we just go back to what worked before. Sometimes the old ways are more reliable, idk. It makes you wonder if all the upgrades are really worth the hassle.

That napkin story really sums it up. It's like the new tech creates extra work that the old paper system never did.
