Showerthought: My bone saw's motor burned out right before a big custom order.
It happened Tuesday morning while I was breaking down a side of beef for a local restaurant's weekend special. I had to finish the cuts by hand with a hacksaw, which added two hours to the job. Anyone have a good source for a reliable replacement motor, maybe under $200?

My buddy's saw died mid-ribeye last month.

Finishing that order with a hacksaw sounds like a special kind of workout. Have you checked if the motor itself is even worth replacing? Sometimes the cost and hassle of a new motor gets close to just finding a used, whole saw on marketplace. A lot of shops upgrade and sell their old reliable gear for cheap.

Oh man, I was in that exact spot with my old band saw. I priced a new motor and it was crazy, like half the cost of a newer used saw. I ended up finding a whole shop selling off their old one for less than the motor alone. It was a way better deal and saved me a ton of time messing with parts.
