That $400 vacuum sealer I bought last spring was a total bust for wet aging
I mean, it worked fine for separating portions of ground, but the seal kept failing on anything with moisture after about a week. Anyone else had better luck with the chamber style ones instead?

Did you ever try pre-freezing the bags before sealing? I used to think that was overkill but after dealing with the same issue I gave it a shot and it actually made a huge difference for me.

@wells.olivia you ever grab a bag of something wet like soup or chili and the bag just folds over at the bottom while it's freezing? Pre-freezing flat on a tray first stops that completely. No more fighting a half-frozen lump that's trying to unfold in your freezer.

Get real, how serious can a freezer bag issue actually be? I've thrown plenty of stuff in bags straight from the store and never had a problem. Pre-freezing sounds like a whole extra step that nobody has time for unless you're storing like a whole cow or something. Most people just toss leftovers in a bag and call it a day. If your bags are leaking or breaking that's a cheap bag problem, not a technique problem. I've never once had to freeze something twice just to keep it from turning into a mess. You're way overthinking this whole thing.
