Wasted $180 on a fancy vacuum sealer that couldn't handle pork ribs
Bought one of those expensive chamber sealers after seeing a guy on YouTube use it, but the damn thing couldn't pull a proper seal on anything with bone-in meat. Anyone else stick with the old manual clip method for stuff like that?

Wait, @kellys78 which Costco bags handle bone-in ribs without leaking?

Different brand maybe but my chamber sealer handles ribs fine, I just double bag them so the bones don't poke through. @kellys78 those Ziploc pump bags are okay but they don't pull enough air out for long term freezer stuff.

My buddy spent $400 on a chamber sealer and it crushed rib bones flat on his first try. He got so mad he threw the ribs in the trash and went back to those cheap Ziploc vacuum bags with the hand pump. Those manual clamps are a pain but at least they don't turn your dinner into a crushed mess. I vacuum seal whole briskets with the bags from Costco and never had a problem.
