Cancelled my hiking trip and stayed home to reorganize my spice cabinet

I had a weekend backpacking trip to the Painted Desert cancelled because of a flash flood warning, so I spent Saturday alphabetizing 47 spice jars instead. My friend Sarah laughed and said I should toss expired ones, but I found a $2 bottle of cumin from 2019 that still smelled fine. Has anyone else used a cancelled plan to tackle a boring home project you kept putting off?

Ha, 47 jars and alphabetized too? That takes some serious dedication. I actually read something the other day about people organizing their pantries by color now, which feels way too extra for me. But @the_jennifer, you make a good point about the flood - maybe that was a coping mechanism after all the rain. I mean, you gotta do something when your hike is underwater and you're stuck inside for hours.
