Dropped $180 on a 'waterproof' tent for a camping trip that got rained out anyway
So my friends and I planned a camping trip up near Lake Placid back in June, and I figured it was finally time to upgrade from my old hand me down tent. I dropped $180 on this thing that the box swore was waterproof and rated for heavy rain. Then two days before we left, the whole trip got canned because my buddy's work schedule blew up and the other couple bailed too. I set the tent up in my backyard that weekend just to see if it was worth keeping, and it leaked at the seams after one garden hose spray. So I'm out $180 and I didn't even get a single night in the woods out of it. Has anyone found a tent that actually holds up in real rain, or am I just supposed to accept that waterproof is a marketing word?
