Found out my $30 thrift store couch has more life left than my $900 mattress after 2 years

I was reading a thread on r/BuyItForLife last night and someone posted a stat that most mattresses lose 30% of their support within 18 months while quality sofas can last decades with proper care, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has started prioritizing cheap used furniture over new stuff from big box stores.

Wait until you learn that your $30 couch is secretly just a mattress with its arms chopped off and nobody called the police on it yet. Seems like the furniture industry pulled a fast one where they made beds disposable and couches immortal just to mess with our wallets. I'm half tempted to just stack two thrift store couches and call it a night.
