Had a whole weekend trip to the coast planned with my brother, but he got food poisoning the night before. Ended up just staying home and finally trying to fix that leaky kitchen faucet.

My old apartment had a drip so bad I could hear it from the bedroom. The landlord kept saying he'd send someone but never did, so after three months I just bought a two dollar washer from the hardware store and fixed it in ten minutes. The quiet was honestly better than any vacation. Sometimes the broken thing you live with every day is the one that needs fixing the most.

Honestly that "finally trying to fix that leaky kitchen faucet" is so real. I saw this thing online about how a small drip can waste like 20 gallons of water a day. Tbh my bathroom tap was doing that for months and my water bill was nuts. Felt pretty good to get the wrench out and just deal with it, even if the weekend plans fell apart.
