I had to choose between a refund or a raincheck when my concert got axed

My buddy and I had tickets to see that band at the Riverside Pavilion this Friday, spent like $75 each. Got the email yesterday saying the whole show is off, something about the lead singer being sick. The venue gave us the option: full refund back to the card, or a raincheck for the rescheduled date they haven't even set yet. I had to pick one. I went with the raincheck because I really wanted to see them, but now I'm just sitting here with a digital voucher and no new date. Feels like I'm stuck waiting forever. We were gonna make a whole night of it, get dinner first and everything. Instead, I'm probably just gonna order a pizza and watch a movie. Has anyone else taken the raincheck and actually had it work out okay, or did you just end up waiting months?

Ugh, classic raincheck limbo. You basically gave them an interest-free loan for a show that might be next year. Hope your pizza is at least really good.

My raincheck for the Foo Fighters took about six weeks to get a new date.
