My big game night got scrapped after the ticket site double-booked our lane

We had a whole bowling night planned for six people, booked and paid for online. An hour before, the alley calls to say their system messed up and our lane was never really reserved. I've had this happen with other online bookings too, it's like they take your cash but don't check if space is actually free. We were all already at my place, so instead of driving over for nothing, we raided my garage for my old cornhole set. We set it up in the driveway and just hung out there for the evening. It turned into a way more chill time, with less noise and more talking. That double-booking glitch is a real pain, so now I call to confirm right after I book online. Honestly, sometimes the messed up plans lead to a better night anyway.

Man, I feel that. My own backup plan is usually just ordering too much pizza and trying to remember the rules to a board game from 2003. Cornhole sounds way better, lol. Glad it worked out for you guys.

Who knew a messed up booking could make for a better night? That cornhole setup sounds way more chill than dealing with a crowded alley.

So what was the main thing that made the cornhole night better? Like, was it the space to actually talk to people, or just not having to wait forever for a lane? Feels like most plans that go wrong just suck, but sometimes you luck into a better vibe. Wonder if you'd even book the alley spot now knowing how this turned out.
