My birthday dinner got canceled last minute, so I ended up having the best night alone

My friends all bailed on my birthday dinner in Denver last Saturday because of a sudden snowstorm. I was bummed, but I ordered my favorite Thai takeout, put on a movie, and ended up calling my grandma for an hour. We talked about her 80th birthday party back in 2019, and I laughed more than I have in weeks. Has anyone else had a canceled event turn into a surprisingly nice solo evening?
