My buddy's car broke down before our camping trip, so I just set up the tent in my backyard.
Honestly, it was better than driving three hours. Anyone else ever have a backup plan that turned out surprisingly good?

Honestly, the best backup plans are the ones that cut out the stress. Last minute change means you skip all the packing panic and traffic. You just... get to be there. My best backyard night was during a storm watch when the power flickered out. Grabbed some blankets and made a nest in the living room instead of the tent. It was so quiet, just listening to the rain. Sometimes the plan B is the whole point.

But the packing panic is half the fun! That last minute scramble feels like an adventure starting. If you just grab blankets, you miss the whole build up.

Totally get that. Had a picnic plan get rained out last week, so we just threw the blanket on the living room floor and ordered pizza. It was way more chill, and my dog got to join in. Sometimes the messed up plan is the real win.
