My fancy dinner reservation got canceled because the restaurant's roof leaked.

We were all dressed up with nowhere to go, so we ended up eating gas station hot dogs on a park bench. Has anyone else had a 'special occasion' completely fall apart in a silly way?

My anniversary dinner was supposed to be at this nice Italian place. We showed up and they had a single, sad power strip running the whole dining room. The lights kept flickering. We ate our breadsticks by candlelight until the oven shut off completely. We got burgers from the drive-thru next door. Classy.

My 30th birthday dinner at The Harbor Grill ended with a flashlight app and comped sodas. I always thought a backup generator was just for hospitals or rich people. Seeing a whole restaurant just stop made me realize how fragile our normal power really is. Now I keep a couple of those big battery packs charged at home just in case.
