My friend bailed on our hike and I ended up cleaning my whole apartment

We were set to climb Mount Si on Saturday, but she texted me at 7 AM saying her car wouldn't start. I was already up, so I just started tidying my place and didn't stop until I'd scrubbed the bathroom, vacuumed three rooms, and done two loads of laundry. Do you think a forced free day is better for getting chores done or does it just feel like a letdown?

Forced free days are the only way my place gets a deep clean. It's a letdown, but at least you're not coming home to a mess.

Totally! I've started using those days to tackle one gross job I always avoid, like cleaning the oven or wiping down baseboards. It feels less awful when you're already stuck at home, and then that one thing is just done.

Ugh, I'm the total opposite. If I'm stuck at home feeling lousy, the last thing I want is to scrub something gross. That just makes a bad day worse. I'd rather just rest and watch something dumb on TV. Cleaning can wait for when I have some energy.
