My friend's birthday dinner got called off yesterday when the restaurant's power went out.

We ended up ordering pizza and watching old movies at my place instead, which honestly felt way more fun and relaxed. Anyone have a good story about a canceled event turning into a better night?

Oh man, that reminds me of my buddy's bachelor party. The whole fancy golf weekend got rained out, total wash. We just holed up in the Airbnb, made a dumb amount of nachos, and had this long, hilarious tournament playing the worst board games we could find at the thrift store. It was so much better than trying to be fancy. We still talk about that night more than any golf we could have played.

Totally get that. Had a camping trip flood out once, ended up playing cards in a motel for two days straight. Honestly, the messed up plans make the best stories.
