My group dinner flopped, so I weighed cooking from scraps against just ordering in
My friends all pulled out of our big meal out at the last second. I was left with a hungry evening and zero prep. One side of my brain said to rummage through the cupboard and whip up something, like that weird soup I made from leftover roast. The other side pointed out that opening a food app takes two minutes and no dishes. But I hate how delivery fries get soggy in the box. Is it better to attempt a kitchen rescue or admit defeat and get takeout every time?

Ugh, that stale bread crouton struggle is REAL. My last scrap meal was a "fridge surprise" pasta that tasted like regret and old mustard. Sometimes you just gotta hit the order button and save the cooking heroics for another day.

Tbh, cooking from scraps saves cash and beats soggy delivery fries any day.

My attempt at scrap cooking last week was a horror show. Tried turning stale bread into croutons and almost set off the smoke alarm. Saved maybe two bucks but spent an hour airing out the kitchen. Those croutons were so hard they could've doubled as hockey pucks. Anyone managed to actually make something edible from scraps without causing a minor disaster?
