My whole friend group bailed on our cabin trip last minute

We had a big cabin booked near Lake Tahoe for this past weekend, all 6 of us were supposed to go. Then on Thursday, one person got sick, another had a work emergency, and the rest just flaked. I was already packed. Instead of moping, I turned my apartment into a solo movie marathon zone, ordered a huge pizza, and watched like 8 action movies in a row. It was actually kind of awesome, just a totally different vibe. Anyone else ever have a group trip collapse and end up having a weirdly good time alone?

Honestly, same thing happened to me last summer. I just drove to the beach alone and spent the whole day reading trashy novels. Sometimes the solo plan you're forced into ends up being the real vacation.

Glad it worked out for you. That would have wrecked me though, being left like that. Solo time is fine but getting ditched by the whole group stings.

I used to feel like Phoenix, but that solo movie marathon you did sounds better than a crowded cabin. Maybe getting left is just a push to try something new?
