Planned a beach day, ended up rescuing a pigeon from a storm drain in Tulsa
My friend and I drove 40 minutes to the lake and it was closed for algae, so we went to a diner instead and heard this flapping under the parking lot. Took us an hour with a coat hanger and a trash bag to get the poor thing out, so I guess the universe wanted us to be bird rescuers that day. Has anyone else had a canceled plan turn into something way weirder than the original?

That kind of thing happens more than people realize. When plans fall through, it's like the universe just shoves something else in front of you, usually something you didn't ask for but needed anyway. Makes you wonder how many other little moments we miss when everything goes as planned.

Isn't it funny how the universe always seems to know exactly when to pull the rug out from under you? I once missed a flight and ended up sitting next to a lady who'd spent forty years as a baker, and she gave me her secret for the fluffiest biscuits. Of course, I promptly forgot the recipe, so maybe that's my sign that my plans really are just meant to fall apart.
