TIL over 60% of people who cancel plans feel relieved instead of disappointed

Saw this stat in a Psychology Today article someone linked here a few days ago. Honestly it made me feel way less guilty about bailing on a group hike last Saturday. I was dreading it all week and when it got rained out I was honestly happy. Anyone else feel that way more often than you'd admit?

Honestly the part about "feeling relieved instead of disappointed" really hit me. I used to think I was just being antisocial or lazy when I got that little wave of happiness after a plan fell through. But seeing it as a pretty common reaction changed my mind, like maybe it's more about needing downtime than not liking the people. Your mileage may vary, but now I try to listen to that feeling instead of feeling guilty about it.
