Found a weird fix for stubborn creosote buildup on stainless liners
Had a customer in Portland whose liner kept glazing over no matter how many times I scraped it. Tried a dry chemical sweep with a 3 inch poly brush and it finally broke through. Anyone else run into liners that just don't want to let go of the sticky stuff?

That poly brush probably just scratches the surface, doesn't actually clean deep.

Tried that same brush last month and my cast iron still had a greasy film on it.

I saw a YouTube video from a kitchen tool guy who actually put one of those poly brushes under a microscope. He showed how the bristles just kind of flex over the grime instead of actually digging into it. That matches what Thea is saying here about it only scratching the surface. I think for quick daily maintenance it's fine, but for a real deep clean you still need something more aggressive.
