Had a customer in Boise tell me his chimney hadn't been cleaned since 1999. Said 'I figured the birds were keeping it clear.'

Could that actually work in some places? Birds do build nests in chimneys, but they also leave behind a ton of twigs and debris. That guy's logic is probably creating a serious fire hazard.

What kind of birds does he think are in there, chimney sweeps with tiny little brushes? That's not how any of this works. Birds make a huge mess of twigs and leaves and droppings. That stuff is super flammable. His logic is a one way ticket to a house fire. That's just asking for trouble.
