Just had my vacuum motor burn out mid-job in Detroit
I'm debating between replacing the motor or just buying a whole new unit - has anyone had luck rebuilding these things or is it always a waste of time?

Man that's frustrating, it's like everything's built to break just past warranty these days.

Think about this though @tylerj22 - a lot of the planned obsolescence is actually intentional by design with how they source parts. My buddy works in appliance repair and says they literally use different suppliers for the same model depending on the year, and the cheaper ones always fail right after warranty ends. It's not just bad luck, it's calculated.

Wait is this really that deep though? I've replaced vacuum motors like 3 times on old Dirt Devils and they ran fine for years after. Feels like people overthink this stuff sometimes lol.
