Old timer told me to check the cap screws first. I thought he was nuts.

My dad's buddy Bob who's been sweeping since the 80s said 90% of draft issues are just loose cap screws. Ignored him for two weeks and replaced a whole liner kit for nothing before I finally tightened those three screws and bam, problem fixed. Anyone else ever overcomplicate a simple fix?

Jump right in and check the smallest things first, it's like a secret rule of the universe. My buddy spent three days ripping apart his washing machine because it wouldn't spin, turned out the lid switch was just loose. Same with my truck's coolant leak, I bought new hoses and clamps before I saw a tiny crack in the overflow tank cap. Cap screws, lid switches, gas caps. It's always the cheap dumb stuff that trips you up.

Ain't that the truth. Always check the gas cap when the check engine light comes on.

Used to think checking small stuff was a waste. Bob proved me wrong.
