Saw creosote glaze catch on a job in Buffalo last month and it scared me straight
Last month in Buffalo I was sweeping a flue I had already swept twice and the glaze was so bad I had to pull out the rotary whip and poly brushes just to make a dent. When the third pass finally broke it loose, a chunk the size of my fist came down hot and lit off some soot in the smoke shelf, and I put it out with my dry chem in about 10 seconds flat. How do you all screen for level 3 glaze before you even quote the job, because I am done guessing on the phone.
