I finally saw the light on flannel sheets after years of hating them
I always told my wife flannel sheets were too hot and made me sweat at night, but I found out at a camping gear swap meet last Saturday that the cheap ones from big box stores trap heat while high-quality flannel actually breathes better. The guy running the booth showed me the thread count and fiber difference on two samples side by side and I was honestly shocked. Has anyone else had a change of heart on a bedding material after getting the details on quality?

I saw the light" - sounds like you got hit with a flannel revelation harder than a gospel tent revival. Next thing you know, we'll all be swapping thread count secrets at swap meets.

@grace89 hit the nail on the head, that swap meet guy basically performed a flannel exorcism on me. I had the exact same thing happen with wool socks last winter. My buddy kept going on about these expensive merino ones and I laughed at him, said wool is for grandpas. Then I tried on a pair and my feet were warm but not sweaty, totally different from the scratchy ones I remembered. The whole time I'd been buying cheap synthetic stuff thinking it was the same thing. Now I'm the annoying one at parties trying to explain thread count and fiber blends to anyone who'll listen. It's like a whole new world opened up once you see the difference with your own eyes.

Is it just me or does this kind of thing happen all the time with stuff we think we already know about? Like you spend years thinking something is one way and then one little experience flips the whole script, and you can't unsee it. It's crazy how much we just assume things without really trying them.
