Friend told me my throw pillow setup looked like a store display, and she was right

So last week my buddy Jenna came over and just flat out said my couch looked like a furniture catalog. I had 8 pillows stacked in a perfect row and she said it looked uncomfortable and nobody would actually use them. Took me a minute to realize she was right, I was just decorating instead of making a cozy spot. I pulled 5 of them off and now I keep just my favorite fleece one and a lumbar pillow for actual napping. Has anyone else had someone call them out for making their setup look too perfect?

Honestly I used to be all about those super soft fleece throws for napping. Thought they were the coziest thing ever for like 5 years straight. But last winter I grabbed a 100% cotton woven throw from a thrift store for 8 bucks and it changed everything. The fleece would make me sweat after 20 minutes and it got all pilly after a few washes. This cotton one breathes way better and still keeps me warm without feeling like I'm in a sauna. Has anyone else gone back to basic materials and found they work better for actual sleeping?

Took me 10 years to realize I was folding my throw blankets wrong

I always just folded my big fleece throw in half longways and stuffed it on the end of the couch. Looked okay. Then my sister came over last Thanksgiving, grabbed it, and folded it into thirds the other way. Fit perfect in the same spot without that lumpy fold in the middle. She said, "You've been making a giant roll instead of a neat stack." How long have you all been folding blankets a specific way before you saw someone do it different?
