My favorite napping blanket failed me after 3 years
I always thought my big fleece throw from Target was indestructible. It started pilling really bad last week after I washed it on warm instead of cold. Now I'm stuck figuring out what to replace it with because I can't stand the little fuzz balls touching my face. Anyone have a fleece blanket that actually held up more than a couple years?

Used to think washing on warm didn't matter but that pilling you described is real annoying, lmao. You're making me reconsider how I treat my own blankets.

Wait, do people actually think warm water is what causes pilling? I toss all my blankets and hoodies on warm and they've held up fine for years. The real culprit is probably the cheap fabric blend or over-drying them on high heat, not the water temp. Honestly, if you're washing on cold and air drying everything, you're just overcomplicating your life for zero actual benefit. Throw it on warm like a normal person and stop worrying about fuzz balls that nobody else even notices.

Had a buddy who washed his favorite hoodie on hot once and it came out looking like a distressed sweater from the thrift store. He's been on cold ever since and swears by it.
