My grandma's old knitted afghan from the 70s vs my fleece throw today
I pulled out her old blanket last weekend and realized how heavy and stiff it was compared to the light stuff I use now, which got me thinking about how much nap setups have shifted over 50 years. Has anyone else found that older blankets just feel different, or am I imagining it?

My buddy grabbed his grandma's wool blanket for a camping trip last fall and said it smelled like mothballs and regret by morning. Dude woke up with a rash on his neck and swore off vintage bedding forever.

Heard someone on the radio saying older blankets were made with tighter weave and actual wool, so they hold up way better but feel like a wet horse blanket. Guess we traded durability for cozy.

Feels like a wet horse blanket" is a perfect way to put it. My grandmother had wool blankets that could probably stop a bullet, but you'd wake up sweating and itchy.
