My grandma's old quilt finally clicked after she showed me the right way to fold it

Last month I visited my grandma in Ohio and she caught me just balling up her hand-stitched quilt every time I napped on her couch. She stopped me and spent 10 minutes showing me how to fold it in thirds, then roll it around a pillow. Said she learned that trick from her mom during the Depression when they only had one good blanket. Now I actually keep my couch blanket neat instead of it looking like a mess. Has anyone else had an older relative show them some random cozy hack that actually changed how you do things?

Didn't she teach you to fold it over a clothesline first to get the creases right? Seriously though, that roll around a pillow trick is genius. I've been doing that with my camping blanket ever since my dad showed me. It keeps everything so much neater and actually saves space in the closet. There's something about those old school methods that just work better than anything modern. Makes you wonder what else we've forgotten.

Man, it's just a blanket, not that deep.
