My heated throw made a weird noise and now I'm scared to nap in it

So Tuesday night I'm settling into my usual couch spot with my heated throw (the one with the auto-off feature) and about 20 minutes in, I hear this faint popping sound from the cord near the plug. I froze, yanked the plug out, and spent the next hour inspecting every inch of the fabric for scorch marks, found none, but I still can't bring myself to use it again. It's sitting folded on the armrest right now like a guilty puppy. Has anyone else had a heating blanket or pad act up out of nowhere, and did you toss it or give it another shot after checking things over?

That pop was probably just the cord flexing, these things do that sometimes, so just plug it back in and take your nap.
