The $9 neck pillow I laughed at saved my couch naps

I used to think those cheap U-shaped pillows were for people who gave up on real comfort, but after falling asleep on my three-seater with a regular throw for months, my neck felt like it was 90 years old. A friend left one of those inflatable travel numbers in my living room last month, so I blew it up out of boredom. Getting the firmness right took a couple tries, but once it held, I actually caught myself reaching for it over my memory foam cushion. Has anyone else been redeemed by a pillow they assumed was a gimmick, or am I just the newest convert?
