The difference a good throw blanket makes on a cold night...

I swapped out my old fleece blanket for a chunky knit one about a month ago and my naps have gotten way deeper... has anyone else noticed how much the texture of a blanket changes your sleep quality?

I was a fleece-only person for years (I thought the chunky knits were just for decoration, honestly). But then my sister gave me this cable knit throw for Christmas and I tried it out of guilt more than anything. First nap under it and I was out for two hours, which never happens with my old blanket. There's something about the weight and the way the yarn breathes that feels different, like it traps warmth without making you sweaty.

My friend Karen actually had the exact same experience last winter. She got one of those cable knits from a craft fair and @noahmartin is totally right about the weight thing. She said the first time she used it she fell asleep on the couch at 7pm and woke up at midnight thinking it was morning. Her old fleece blanket would always slide off the bed in the night but that chunky knit stayed put like it had magnets in it. Now she keeps it folded at the foot of her bed and uses it for everything, even just sitting up reading.

And that weight thing is huge. I never realized how much I needed that gentle pressure until I got one. Reminds me of those weighted blankets but way more breathable. Now I reach for mine over the fleece every single time, even in summer with just a sheet underneath.
