Tried a heated throw blanket for the first time and it nearly cooked me alive
I got one of those Sunbeam fleece throws on sale last week, set it to medium like the box said, and woke up drenched in sweat after 20 minutes. Guess my old napping routine with just a regular cotton blanket and a ceiling fan was fine all along. Anybody else find those things way too hot?

Wait until you try it on high by accident, I nearly levitated off the couch from the heat. I swear those things are secretly designed by someone who lives in a walk-in freezer.

You mentioned getting "levitated off the couch from the heat" - was that on high with the blanket mode or just a regular heating setting? I've got one of those older microfiber throws and it barely gets warm, so I'm wondering if the newer ones really crank it up that much more. Just seems like there has to be a huge gap between models or something, right?

Had the same problem with an older throw. Barely felt a thing on high. Picked up one of the newer Sunbeam models last year and it's a completely different beast. That thing on high with the preheat option will cook you right off the couch. Took me a few nights to figure out medium is my sweet spot now. So yeah, the gap between models is huge.
