Can we talk about how a 7 word rework of our case study page doubled demo requests in Tucson?
Last quarter our case study page was getting maybe 40 visits a week and almost nobody filled out the form. I kept thinking we needed more customer quotes or a fancier layout, so I spent two Saturdays messing with graphics that did nothing. Then a sales guy named Derek sent me a Slack message asking why every case study opened with 'Company X is a leading provider of...' because, in his words, 'nobody talks like that and nobody cares.' So I rewrote the top of each page to just say what broke, what we did, and what changed, like 'Their SOC alert queue dropped from 900 to 60.' No buzzwords, no 'solutioning.' Two weeks later demo requests from that page went from 3 to 7, and the average time on page went up too. Small numbers, sure, but it was the easiest win I've had all year and it cost me one afternoon. Has anyone else tested plain language headlines against the usual industry jargon? I would love to see a real A/B number from someone else's site.
