Chatting with a SOC analyst at DEF CON made me question my whole content strategy

I was at DEF CON last month grabbing coffee, and this SOC analyst started talking about how he blocks most vendor emails before even reading them. He said he only opens stuff from people who actually explain a threat in plain English, not the usual 'leverage our platform' fluff. That hit different because I've been writing whitepapers and blog posts for two years, and I bet 80% of my audience skips them. I went back and checked my click-through rates, and sure enough, the simplest posts about specific attack patterns got triple the engagement. Has anyone else pivoted away from jargon-heavy marketing and seen a big jump in leads or replies? I'm starting to think we've been overcomplicating everything.
