Demo day meltdown in front of a CISO, had to rebuild the pitch on the spot

I was in San Jose last Tuesday showing our phishing simulator to a healthcare company's security team. The live attack graph froze at 42% completion and then showed a false positive. I had to switch to a whiteboard explanation right there, took about 10 minutes to reframe it as a reporting dashboard instead. Has anyone else had a product fail mid-demo and found a way to spin it into a talking point?

Oh man, I had a CRM demo die right as the client asked about reporting, so I just flipped my laptop around and walked them through the data on a sticky note wall I had set up for myself. The client actually told me later that my "backup plan" made me look MORE prepared than if the software had worked.
