My boss told me 'fear sells better than features' and it made me angry
He said this after our new threat report got 3x more clicks than our product demo. Are we really stuck selling panic instead of actual solutions?

The 3x clicks might just show a broken demo page. I've seen boring product videos kill their own traffic with bad titles.

Look at the 3x click difference, that's market data talking. People act on what they feel is urgent, not what's nice to have. Your boss might be onto something about how real buying decisions get made.

Honestly I used to get mad at that kind of thinking too, like we should be selling the good stuff our product does. But then I watched my own buying habits. I'll click on the scary article about data leaks way before I click a calm product tour, because it feels like a problem I need to fix right now. Your boss is pointing out a harsh truth, that fear makes people move faster than any list of cool features ever will. It feels gross but the click numbers don't lie.
