Our webinar registration page 404'd for 2 hours during a paid LinkedIn push
Last Tuesday our new webinar signup page started throwing a 404 at around 10am, right as a paid LinkedIn campaign was sending people to it. By the time our demand gen lead caught it, we had burned $1,850 in ad spend sending traffic to a dead page. The kicker is the whole thing came from a bad redirect rule our agency pushed the week before and no one tested. I pulled the campaign, emailed the list an apology with the working link, and we got 60 signups from that email alone, which tells me the ad copy was never the issue. Now I want every campaign link checked by two people before launch, and the agency is not happy about it. Is it fair to charge the agency for the wasted spend, or am I just asking for a fight?
