Serious question, remember when security software ads were just warnings?

Back then, every promo felt like a threat about viruses and crashes. Now it's more about calm explanations and real fixes. I kind of miss the bluntness, but this way works better.

McAfee used to make my old laptop sound like it was launching missiles. The new quiet notifications are probably smarter, but they don't have that same action movie feel.

I had Norton in 2005 and those pop-ups with the huge red "YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED" warnings would give me a legit heart attack every time. I probably spent more time being scared of the security software than any actual virus. The calm how-to videos they make now are definitely better for my blood pressure, but I will admit the old drama made me feel like the star of a hacker movie for a minute.

Those Norton alerts were pure theater. Made you the main character in your own tech thriller, right @phoenix_jackson52?
