Showerthought: Took me 3 entire weeks to fix a broken tracking pixel on our Google Ads.

I spent three weeks chasing a 0.2% conversion drop before I realized our tag manager had a duplicate firing rule, how often do you guys find simple setup bugs eating your campaign data?

Tag assistant saved my sanity too" I accidentally double-fired a purchase event and spent two weeks wondering why my ROAS looked too good.

Yeah I had something similar with Facebook ads last year. Spent a month thinking my CPL was tanking when really I had two versions of the same pixel event firing from a third party scheduling tool and my main site. The duplicate was counting every conversion twice so my numbers looked fine but the attribution was all junk. I started using the tag assistant extension in Chrome and running a click test right after every tag change. Also helps to just strip everything back to one source of truth for tracking. Google Tag Manager is great but it's real easy to stack rules on top of each other without realizing it.
