Spent 3 hours trying to explain zero-trust to a client last Tuesday
I work at a small cybersecurity marketing agency and a client asked me to write a blog about zero-trust architecture for their website. I figured it would be a quick 30 minute chat to get their input. Nope. Three hours later I was still explaining what zero-trust actually means vs what people think it means. They kept saying stuff like 'so it just blocks everyone?' and 'isn't that the same as a VPN?' It was rough. I finally just sent them a simple graphic that showed before and after network access because words weren't working. Has anyone else had to spend way too long explaining basic security concepts to a client?

Agree with you there @wesley181, it is pretty standard stuff. Not sure why everyone's acting like it's some kind of wizardry. Appreciate you calling it out though so people don't get the wrong idea about what's actually going on.

Yeah @hart.sage gets it. People love to overcomplicate simple stuff around here. It's just basic troubleshooting dressed up like rocket science.
