Spent 3 weeks trying to explain why a 'free' VPN offer was a terrible idea for a client's email campaign

Three weeks? Seriously? I can't believe it took that long. I would've lost my mind after the second meeting explaining how "free" VPNs sell your data or inject ads. Did they really think they could build trust by telling customers to install spyware? That's like putting a "this envelope might be opened" disclaimer on a love letter.

Been there, had that fight. The real move is to show them the data. Pull up a few news articles about free VPNs getting caught logging everything, then ask how that fits with their brand's privacy message. Sometimes they just need to see it in black and white from a source that isn't you.

Wow, three whole weeks? What finally made them listen, or did they just give up from exhaustion? I've found some clients get stuck on the word "free" and just stop hearing anything else. It's like trying to warn someone about a bear trap because the cheese looks tasty.
