Stumbled on a stat about CISO turnover that blew my mind

I was putting together a report for our marketing team and dug into some data from IANS Research. Turns out the average CISO tenure is now around 18 months, down from 3 years just a few years ago. That really changed how I think about targeting our content and emails. Has anyone else adjusted their marketing strategy based on this kind of shift?

18 months is insane" is right. I was at a company where we had three CISOs in just over two years. First one left, second one got fired, third one quit after six months. It was a total mess. We couldn't even get basic security projects started because we kept starting over with new leaders.

18 months is insane, that's barely enough time to learn everyone's names.

Does @the_miles have a point that companies just don't know what they want from a CISO anymore? Like 18 months might sound bad but it's almost expected now. I've seen teams where the security roadmap just gets thrown out every time a new person comes in. It's like nobody wants to commit to a real strategy because they know the next CISO might just change everything. And then you end up with half finished projects and a lot of confused people.
