Pro tip: don't buy those fancy magnetic phone mounts for your car vents

I dropped $28 on one from a shop in Portland last month and it slid right off my dash on the first hot day. The magnet was strong enough but the vent clip broke after like 4 uses, so now I'm back to the $5 cradle from the gas station. Anyone else had better luck with a specific brand or should I just stick to the cheap ones?

Honestly I used to be all about those magnetic ones, thought they were so slick. But yeah, same thing happened to me, the clip just gave up after a week. Cheap cradle for life now, I mean it's ugly but it actually holds my phone.
